Dr. Sarah Demers is a physicist based at CERN working on the ATLAS experiment; one of the massive experiments that will start collecting data from the Large Hadron Collider on July 5, 2022. In addition to working on ATLAS, Dr. Demers is a professor at Yale and has collaborated with the Yale theater department to explore connections between physics and dance.
In this episode get a behind the scenes look at the mission of CERN, how they are using AI to leverage an unprecedented amount of data, the implications of creating dark matter and anti-matter, and how exploring physics at a subatomic scale can help us better understand (and better appreciate) our place in the universe.
